Weekend Bookends: Two Snapped Mechanisms, Two Happy Customers

This past weekend brought two very different jobs—but both with the same outcome: peace of mind restored.
🔐 Friday Fix: Bathroom Lockout in Catshill I was called out on Friday to help a local lady who’d found herself locked out of her bathroom. The follower inside the lock had snapped, leaving the handle spinning freely and the door firmly shut. Using non-destructive entry techniques, I was able to gain access quickly and safely. A new bathroom lock was fitted, and everything is now working smoothly. She was relieved to have it sorted without any damage—and I was glad to help.
🚪 Monday Repair: Patio Door Handle Replacement Fast forward to Monday, and I was back out again—this time to a home where the back patio door handle had snapped clean off. The door itself was fine, but without a working handle, it was unusable. I sourced and fitted a new handle that matched the existing finish, ensuring the door was secure and fully functional once again.
Both jobs were great reminders of how small failures in hardware can cause big disruptions—and how a quick, professional fix can make all the difference.
If you’ve got a lock or handle that’s not quite right, don’t wait for it to fail. I’m always happy to help, whether it’s a quick repair or a full replacement.
