🔧 Returning Customer – French Patio Doors Back to Smooth Operation
It was great to be back helping a returning customer this week. I first visited them in October for a front door issue, and this time their French patio doors had completely stopped opening — not ideal in the heat we’ve had lately, especially with more warm weather on the way.
After carefully getting the doors open, it became clear they’d never been serviced, and the root cause was alignment issues. With the recent hot weather expanding the door, everything had shifted just enough to stop the mechanism from working.
I carried out all the necessary adjustments and servicing, and the doors are now opening and closing smoothly again.
🌡️ Weather plays a big part in door performance
Heat causes doors to expand, and cold causes them to contract. Over time this movement can lead to:
• Sticking or dragging
• Difficulty locking or unlocking
• Handles feeling stiff
• Doors needing a “push or pull” to engage the lock
If you’re noticing any of these early signs, it’s worth getting in touch before it becomes a bigger issue. A simple door service can save you from costly repairs later on.
